someone I am working with denies drug use, but sent this text accidently to the wrong person, and it was shared w. me.
Firstly, what kaismama said. However it also made me think...
The message intrigued me and after 12 hours, a nights sleep followed by the use of google to look up American slang/idiom and think I have a potential interpretation (that is actually immaterial to this post). Like many things It could be quite innocent or it might not be. For all we know he/she could be talking about sharing a Pizza or one of those KFC bucket meals? Without any real context you can come to just about any conclusion/interpretation you like.
Accusations or rumour spreading can be hugely damaging to an individual both personally (mentally especially) and professionally. If the potential safety of others is at stake, still think very carefully before going to HR with something like this. A person might not get the benefit of the doubt and be terminated summarily without being guilty of anything. What if he/she has a family? A mortgage? If you were to take any kind of action you would need to be absolutely 100% sure.
Maybe just keep an open eye and refuse to engage in rumour (rumor for the US) until you have something more substantial than a text.
