I am 23 and I feel I amd or didn't grow to my real height cos every member of my family is tall, so can I take Tev-Troplin? Or which drug is recommended for me to take , to help release my growth hormones or aid in me to grow taller? Because I want to. Thanks
Growth hormones have to be taken prior to the closure of the growth plates on the bones. By age 23, it is likely that your growth plates are closed and you wont respond to growth hormone. The best way to tell if the plates are done growing is to get an xray of the hand and wrist. The proper Dr to consult would be a pediatric endocrinologist. There are tests to deterimine if you are still growing and if your lack of stature is even due to low amounts of growth hormone. Unfortunately though, once the growth plates have stopped growing (closed) there is little to be done at this point-adding growth hormone wont help you grow if the growth plates have stopped growing.
