I have has anxiety and panic for twenty years. My daily medicines have worked over the years. I have been on Paxil, klonpin, Buspar, among others through out the years. My body gets used to them so I have to switch. I am going through a divorce, my dog just died last week, family friend past away two weeks ago and recently sold my house. This past week I have been to the er twice. The worst panic I have ever had. I just started taking Xanax today along with my daily meds of Effexor, Paxil and visteril all approved by one doctor and my pharmacy. After taking Xanax tonight I am feeling anxious. Xanax used to help me a lot. I am hoping it will start to work tonight.
I hope the Xanax will begin helping you as well. You have been through some very traumatic events which can trigger the anxiety and depression. So be kind to yourself. Be careful taking Effexor and Paxil both as they both affect serotonin and if not prescribed carefully could cause serious interaction.
Falcon21; I was going to say pretty much the same as Laurie; SHE IS very good with helping everyone I just wanted to add and hope you don't take this wrong But even more so you have been through some very terribile things lately on top of your normal problems. MAJOR changes and I really don't think it was the Xanax not working our minds are very powerful and anxiety levels change by the minute as i'm sure you know.this.Try your best not to worry about this.OR all the crap that you have been through in such a short time.It well get better. And with our problems these major changes are very hard on us.then the holiday to boot. Your going to be fine. I am so sorry about the loss of you Dog I do know how hard that is they are like kids to us. Just loosing my 20 year old dog I know the feeling. Your going to come out on top. another long time suffer of this junk as I call it Chuck1957
Falcon; Remember that the Vistaril also makes the Xanax stronger too, So be a bit careful if your using them both to sleep or taking them close together if anything it may be better that way for now. Have a good Thanksgiving and do your best to breath deep and slow in and out it works good for me when I get very upset breath deep where you can see your stomach push out then you know you are not messing up and breathing shallow which makes the anxiety worse. Time well heal and you well be back to yourself without the baggage Chuck1957
Falcon; I use the Xanax only when I know a panic attack is starting or I'm getting too upset also I find it works better for me is I dissolve it in my mouth it taste not so good but it works better for me. Or think of the things that set off your severe panic and take it about or around the fist sign of a panic attack, Like the symptoms you know to come along with the panic attack.Mine is like seeing spots of light twinkles around eyes ,excess shakiness, and stomach butterflies. if you can notice this then take it right then. Or when I know I'm heading out of the house to go to a store or something out of the ordinary. As far as your Paxil if you have been on it for a while it should be fine try and take it about the same time each day so you hold a good blood level But you have been through a lot of stuff just lately and it well take some time to readjust to all of this. hang in there you well get better.
