I have Bursitis and Bone Spurs in my neck and constantly suffer from Migraines.Everyday I at the least have a normal headache. The mussels in my neck spasms and cause these headaches and migraines. Will a Tens Unit help the spamming muscle?
Hi meme, did the doc order a tens unit for this particular problem, or is it left over from another issue and you are just searching for anything that might help? Me personally have never gotten much relief from a tens. I feel the exact problems that you describe, tightening of the neck, and headaches. I take a muscle relaxant and that seems to work for me. Get rid of the muscle spasms and it all loosens up, reduceing the chance for the headaches. Try the tens, you may have more luck than I did. Feel better. L
A tens unit didn't help my migraines much, but your problems are a bit different then mine. I get nerve blocks for my tight neck and shoulders which are a factor in my migraines. I take muscle relaxants for a different problem which doesn't help my tight neck at all, but you have a different problem. I think that you should ask your doctor what might help your neck spasms. A neurologist would be your best bet. I agree with the other response. Did your doctor recommend the TENS unit? Or did a physical therapist? If so, then you should be able to try it at the office before purchasing one to see if it helps. Good luck.

My PT gave me my first go at the tens unit in the clinic this am, is a painful headache commonplace?
