I've akready seen a dentist, he says im fine. I've been to several urgent care docs, they all say it will go away. 4 going onto 5 months! im going insane! someone please help me! no one knows how to help me!
Hi,I would suggest an ice pack behind your neck but soft gel is the best kind.Make sure its below both ears behind your head onto the neck. Also, sleep with noise for awhile, such as a channel on tv that doesnt come in thats snowy.a radio etc. I use a fan when it comes on or air condition.
You need to see a neoroligist. My spelling stinks sorry.I have so many things wrong with me that I can tell many what works for me and hope it works for them.
Reiki is the best self help you can get.If you cant get it then do it yourself! Place your warm hand on the pain and think painless! The warmth from my hands with the gel ice on where I told you to put it helps me but I find praying while I place my warm hand on the painful area is what works for me. I ask that God Heal me through my hands.I do all that I have told you here and it works for me. I hope you find one of what I have stated works for you! Good Luck. Your not alone.:)
Sounds like TMJ. Most dentists won't touch it. I've suffered from it for years on and off. A Maxilo Facial Surgeon might help but will be very pricy. Insurance companies DO NOT cover TMJ - very rare to find one that does. You need to relax the jaw muscles (i.e. muscle relaxers, de-stress - very important). Mine flares up when stress levels are high - this is most common in people who suffer with it. You could get a dental tray at the drugstore - you heat it in boiling water then form it to your teeth and sleep with it every night - keeps you from clenching your jaw. Try to relax, don't chew gun, don't eat hard candy or things that are very chewy or crunchy for a few weeks. Try some Motrin - this helps the most for me!! Good luck!
Tinnitis, or ringing in the ears can be associated with TMJ disorder because the inflammation of the associated mastoid muscles can spread to the ear. Inflammation in the middle or inner ear causes symptoms such as ringing in the ear, ear pain, dizziness. Go to a general practicioner and have her point you in the right direction.
Oh my goodness! Finally I see someone is going thru what I am. Everything else that people are saying on here that you should put a warm or cold compress on your neck or ear or head... Sorry but tried that and DOES NOT WORK, you cant keep that on 24/7 because it does not ease it or stop it, it always comes back and with me it comes beack with a vengence. I have more health problems than I know how to deal with. I've been battling bone cancer for 10yrs now plus severe fibromyalsia thru my entire body, chostolchondritus in my ribs for over 15 yrs wihich along the way has broken 3 of my ribs, I also have degenerative disc disease in my entire spine... blah blah blah the list goes on. No one knows the pain and annoying thump that comes along with TMD unless they have it severely. I've gone to numerous urgent cares, my primary care physician and even the dentist and an ears, nose and throat dr. They all have different theories but no answers.
Most have put me on percocet which has now helped so much I cry with joy that it has done something. The percocet takes away the pain, eases and most often stops the noises in my ears completely. It also takes away the mortifying migraines i was getting from this. The drs keep saying this is the worst case they have ever seen. I live in Rochester NY and I am only 28 yrs old. I know that the percocet is only a temporary treatment and is not for long term but its the ONLY thing that helps and has ever helped. Drs are getting very nerotic about giving out scripts for narcotics but if thats what they have to do until they figure out a treatment plan then thats what needs to happen. Im swearing to you it is the only thing that has helped in a great way. I can finally eat and sleep all thanks to the pain meds. I can finally live my life and work again and not want to die every moment of my life. I may sound pathetic but trust me on this. I hope I gave you some kind of insight to how bad it can actually get. Try going to a TMD specialist, they are hard to find but out there. I'll be seeing one very soon all thanks to a referral from my dental specialist clinic/jaw specialist I saw. Also I have a packet on info about TMD that I've never seen anywhere given to me by the Jaw specialist. Its stuff i couldnt even find on the internet. let me know if youre interested. Please message me if you wanna talk or have any further questions.
