with my teeth real hard and heard something snap in my upper jaw bone. Minutes after I had pain and was not able to open my mouth without hurting. I also could not chew without discomfort. It is three days now and it is a little better, however when I yawn or open my mouth wide, it still hurts. Do you think I sprained my TMJ with the stupid action I did?
Why in Gods name did you squeeze a lemon with your teeth!? lol It could have strained your TMJ or popped it out of place. It is also possible that you may have a small fracture. You should probably see your dentist (and expect to be lectured soundly for using your teeth and jaw like that!) You DONT want continual TMJ pain, trust me! Mine started after being knocked in the jaw by a dogs head-my brother's Doberman jumped up just as I leaned down and got me good in the jaw-I saw stars! Then about a month after that I was punched in the jaw by a male patient and ever since then I have had TMJ trouble. My dentist just shakes her head because my bite is so bad (those arent the only abuses my jaw has taken over the years but they were the events that really started the continual problems). I have to take Xanax before even a cleaning because holding my jaw open wide enough and long enough will give me an unrelenting headache without the medicine. See your dentist asap so it doesnt become a chronic problem!
