My tongue is sore from all the movement in my mouth. Any advice from anyone on this?
Pegaboomer, FINALLY, someone who really knows what I am going through! I don't wish this condition on anyone, even a worst enemy, so I can readily relate. I would love to speak to you, friend me and I would be glad to send you my # in a private question if you agree. I was officially diagnosed in January of 2012 but I have been suffering much longer than that (please read my profile). As far as the sore mouth my doctor prescribed me a special mouthwash, it is called FIRST Mouthwash Suspension BLM and is put out by CutisPharma. It really helped me but I had to use it almost continuously by dabbing it on my lips with gauze in order to reach the places that the swishing didn't get. It is specially mixed right at the pharmacy and contains: aluminum hydroxide USP, magnesium hydroxide USP and simethicone USP (that's straight from the label). I hope this helps, please stay in touch! Lisa Z.
Hi, i also suffer from TD and can relate to your problem. I had a mouth-guard made through my dentist and this helps to prevent me from biting my tongue (and inside of my mouth). When my mouth gets too sore i use Ultra Chloraseptic anaesthetic throat spray. I spray it towards the back of my mouth and let it drip down over my tongue. I don't know if it is advisable to use this on a regular basis? And you need to be careful with hot food and drinks, not to burn the inside of your mouth whilst it is numbed.
I have suffered with TD for over 3 years and I also have movements in my mouth and feet. There is a prescption mouth called Magic Mouthwash there are several different fourmulas and it is used a lot by patients being treated with radiation for mouth cancer. You can google it and it will give the various compounds to give to your doctor. It has worked for me and it was very inexpensive. The other rise that works well is a 50/50 mixture of plain saline and peroxide. It helps heal the sores but the Magic mouthwash helps the pain more. I just found this site on a night when I really needed to feel I wasn't alone. I hope this helps.
I bite my lip and tongue, it really hurts, some good advise here, thank you for asking this question
