... asleep more than 3 hours. Now taking trazadone and doexel and still not staying asleep. I'm taking 100 of trazadone and 10 of the other
Regina; hi again sometimes also it takes a little time with Trazadone to kick in for many others it just knocks out. Just keep trying I know you in alot of discomfort from your other post. OR give your doctor a call you still have room for increasing both of these in dose but don't do that without the doctors okay. Chuck1957
I feel your pain. I've tried them ALL. I went to the Stanford sleep clinic and the best they could do was 20 mg. of Ambien. That's a lot-still no sleep. Seroquel worked but added 40 lbs. Chloral Hydrate (Somnote) is an old drug that used to work but now I get it from a compound pharmacy and even if I add 3 mg. Klonopin, it takes 4 hours to work. It's frustrating for sure.
Has your dr mentioned Imovane to you? The generic name is Zopiclone. I find that it works really well for sleep. I was also on Trazadone in the past, but found that when I woke up in the morning I was so dizzy, groggy and disoriented that I couldn't walk straight. I continued with it for a little while, but ended up stopping because of this. From that I went to Elavil (Amitriptyline) which caused me to have severe constipation, Imovane and now to Saphris. Honestly the Imovane worked better for me than the Saphris, but my dr suggested I try it not only for sleep, but as an adjunct to other drugs that I am on for anxiety and depression. I have also tried Seroquel, which I really liked both for sleep and for mood, but it made me gain weight. It's very frustrating trying to find a good sleep medication that is right for each individual person. It seems to be a trial and error thing. I hope you find what works for you.
