I am so sorry Lullaby; Look like another doctor just handed you the prescription and did not say much. Anyway with Zoloft what you are going through is very normal. When you first start the Zoloft the symptoms that it is supposed to help really get worse for a few week. Then let's see you said you have been on it about 2 weeks. and that is about the time some of these increased effects should start to lighten up and you should start to feel better little by little between now and 3 to 4 weeks and it well still continue to get better and the symptoms should go away as you continue and by the time you reach the full blood level which is 6 to 8 weeks you well know how well it is working for you because that is when it reaches its full blood level. I hope this helps you understand how this works more. so if it is going to help you it's between the 6 to 8 weeks and if its still not very good talk with the doctor and it may be something as simple as a dose change.
Now also remember it is very important the you take this medication at about the same time each day and don't miss any days.
Also if your tummy hurts at all it may help to eat a few cracker or drink a glass of milk. okay, my friend, I hope this makes sense to you now that you know what is going on. Chuck1957
I would try another two weeks. It sounds like you've tried other anti-depressants. Is your primary care physician ordering these or a psychiatrist? I know how you feel. I'm on Wellbutrin and I don't feel it's helping; it's frustrating. Maybe a month will do the trick. Sometimes I wonder if anti-depressants really work, but it's worth trying if the side effects aren't too bad. Keep advocating for yourself and if your insurance covers it I've heard acupuncture can help with depression. I hope you feel better.
Lolaby, I'd give it at least the 6-8 weeks Chuck spoke of. We all want a quick fix, but, hon, most meds don't work that way. If you are willing to try something, at least give it an honest to goodness try. If you don't, you really can't rule it out as being helpful. I wish you well.
