What is a safe list of anti-depressants that works well with wellbutrin?
It may be the med you're on and not a matter of adding another. Also, combos that work for me may not work at all for you. Factors like how long have you been on the XL?, More than 3 months? May be time for a dosage reduction or reevaluation. Consult the only one who can know what is right for you, the prescribing physician. If you do switch, be sure to gradually be all the way off one before going to another. That can be anywhere from 10-14 days or more depending on how much and how long.
Nice thing about Wellbutrin is that you can take it along with many other antidepressants. It is easily combined with SSRI's such as Lexapro or Zoloft as well as SNRI's such as Cymbalta or Effexor. The right adjunct antidepressant is a trial and error sort of deal as what works for one person may not another. I would discuss with prescribing doctor whether an increase in Wellbutrin is advisable or adding another antidepressant. The normal therapuetic level for Wellbutrin XL is 300mgs.
