I suffer from major deppression, anxiety, and I don't sleep well at night. I've been suffering with these disorders most of my adult life. I've been seeing health providers sense 2001. I've taken just about every med they have out there, none seem to help much... talk therapy seem to help a lot but it only last for about two weeks... then I'm back down in the dumps again... anyone out there know of something that they are doing for these disorder that I suffer from that may be helpful for me, that you have did that helped you if you exsperance pretty much the same faith as I do from taking all these meds? right now I'm taking 40mgs viibyrd, 10mgs ambien, 10mgs clonazepam, and ultrum for pain.
Are you saying that your Dr. did not titrate your Viibryd dosage up beginning with 10mg? How can you be taking 40mg after only 2 weeks time? Please let us know how it was prescribed. Viibryd is a unique and amazing med, but administering the dosage correctly is critical.
Hi, Bamboos! I can certainly sympathize! I've been treated for drug-resistant MDD since my teens and I'm now 58yrs.
It's *normal* for some people to initially feel worse during the first weeks of treatment, but that usually resolves and, as Mama said, it can take a couple months for the drug to reach maximum levels in your system. You're now on the commonly accepted maintenance dose, so hopefully the Viibryd will kick in soon.
For some people, antidepressants aren't enough and the next step would be adding an antipsychotic and/or a mood stabilizer.
I KNOW how frustrating it can be when you just want your life back ~ or just a life! ~ but there is still hope. I have to say that the last year or so have been very enjoyable for me. It just takes time to stumble onto just the right *cocktail*.
Good luck and my very best wishes! WCV
While it is true that it can take upto 4 - 6 weeks for an antidepressant to reach max effectiveness I couldn't help but notice that you are on a very high dose of clonazepam which could be adding to the depression. Why so high a daily doseage? I realize it helps with anxiety and insomnia, but really not good at these high of levels unless for seizure disorder.
