I've been on birth control pills for a cycle and a half, and I know you're supposed to take them at the same time every day. Unfortunately, I'm struggling with a period of depression, so my pill-taking schedule is often erratic- sometimes I end up sleeping much later than usual or having to rush to an appointment I've forgotten about. I usually take them in the morning, but occasionally I'll take a pill in the afternoon or even early evening. How much does this affect my chances of becoming pregnant? I use a backup method every time I have sex just to be sure, but am I at a significant risk?
