... There was only one time in the past month and a half that I took my pill late because I didn't have it on me and as soon as I got home I took it about 4 hours late. Other than that I have not messed up at all. Last month I got my period on the normal day that I get it but it was extremely light. I wouldn't call it spotting because it was on my inner legs when I woke up with it, but it kept going away and coming back throughout the day for my 4 normal period days. It's never been like that before. I'm supposed to get my period again in a week. Is last month's weird light period normal? I have sex with my boyfriend and he ejaculates inside of me
Yes, this is normal and just fine. Being late by a few hours on taking your pill is not a big deal as long as you dont totally miss a whole day (and even one missed pill only raises chances of pregnancy slightly-if you miss two or more it gets dicier) You are safe at this point even if he ejaculates within you. Please spread word that pulling out before ejaculation does NOTHING to prevent pregnancy. It is a wasted gesture because men secrete sperm all through the sex act not just at ejaculation-this is NOT something he can control or even feel but it happens, even if he says he never sees any secretion when he masturbates-being within a vagina is different plus, you cant see those tiny little sperm without a microscope anyway, but they are there, and they can get you pregnant! Never use pulling out as a back up either-you could get pregnant. If you totally miss a pill and discover it a day later, take it as soon as you remember even if you are taking two pills at a time or in the same day depending on when you remember (but dont take more than two) then you will need to use back up condoms (or abstain) for seven days after. If you had sex the day before or the day you discover the miss, dont worry, like I said, the chances are very slight but use back up in the next seven days anyway-just in case. If you miss two pills, you take two pills the day you discover the miss and two pills the next day-that covers the current pills and the ones you missed-and then, again, use back up condoms for seven days. If you miss three or more pills, throw that pack away (or keep for "spares") and start a new pack that day (yes, you will skip your inactive pills that month but likely, if you miss three or more pills, you are going to bleed anyway) and again, use back up condoms for seven days just like starting over from the beginning. No worries though! You will be fine!
