... sugar pill week. Couple months ago i went to my gyno & she told me to be less painful do to my endometriosis stop taking the white pills ( sugar pills) & just jump to the next pack. For 2 months now i been having brown discharge & sometimes just regular discharge. When is this going to stop? Is it normal ? It have not stop for 2 months & just getting fustrated because everything was ok when i was taking my whole pack. Can i start taking the sugar pills again to regulate my period like it was?
I was told to continue taking birth control pills skipping the placebo pills and starting a new pack so that I wouldn't have a period. I have endometriosis also. The first cycle of continuing the pills successfully stopped my period but after that it didn't seem to work. I've tried this 3 times now with 2 different brands of birth control. It always seems to work initially but not continue to work, I always get a period and it's not regulated like it was when I'd had it the week of placebo pills. My obgyn changed the pills to one that was the same hormone all month whereas the previous pills were a different color each week and had a different level of hormone leading up to the placebo week. She thought if I was on an even keel of steady hormones that it would work better... It didn't. Again, it worked to stop my period the first month I continued the pills but I got it during the next month of pills. She said to continue for several months so my body could adjust. I am on the third month of continuous pills and have been bleeding heavily for the past week and had a dark discharge, spotting, for a few days before which I figured was normal bc of the endometriosis, I figured it was impossible to not have some discharge occasionally, but I wasn't expecting to have a long & heavy period with horrible pain if I continued the pills, the whole point of continuing them was to prevent that, but like you I'd rather go back to having it every month knowing when it will be. I have to follow up with my obgyn to find out why this method isn't working. Post any info you receive, I'd be interested in hearing how it goes for you too. Best wishes! ~anjeegyrl
