Started on 25mg, now am up to 100mg daily. Side effects have been present but powering through. Wondering how long until depressive symptoms improve?
Shannon; Great for you for fighting through the side effects and really from the way I am reading this I think you should start feeling an Improvement in those in the next week to 10 days depending on when you started on the 100mg, But then when you notice some of those starting to improve meaning the nausea yuck or increased depression or anxiety your normally about a couple of weeks where you should start noticing little by little an improvement in you, AND THAT SHOULD CONTINUE RIGHT UP TO THE 6 TO 8 WEEK BLOOD LEVEL YOU NEED TO START TO REALLY FEEL BETTER IN MOST CASES.HOPE THAT IS CLEAR ENOUGH YOU ARE REAL CLOSE TO START TO FEEL THE BENEFITS OF THE ZOLOFT WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK IN THE WORLD THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY EFFECTIVE ONES FOR SEVERAL USES. HAVE A GOOD EVENING. CHUCK1957
Hi Shannon. I've just joined this support group. I am on 150mg of Sertraline and have been on this dose for just over a week & on the meds for just over 4 weeks. I haven't had many side effects but am definitely feeling worse at the moment. I have read regularly that with this medication you can feel worse before feeling better. The general time for the Sertraline to help with depressions & anxious thoughts etc. , from what I have read, is around 6-8 weeks in. I am hoping that this is the case. It's such a hard journey isn't it, but I think being in a support forum & talking to people in the same situation should really help. At least you not feel so alone. Hope meds start to work really soon.
