Oh God... I hope not! I have a fatty liver & I take prozac & I don't want to damage my liver any more than I did when I drank alcohol & partied excessively in my younger years... How long have you been taking Prozac & has it helped you?

Hi nankie (and Hope)
Any medication we ingest is filtered by our liver and/or kidneys. So, I suppose I'd have to say that Prozac does affect our livers, but doing damage is another thing altogether.
This is a good question to ask your doctor, nankie. She/he can give you a detailed answer and ideally she/he should be testing your blood once every year (to twice yearly) to detect any liver damage.
Best wishes to you both,
Lara
