He cannot write scripts any more. So now I'm searching to see another dr. Any helpful tips to help me receive the medication I'm used to? I'm in ny
You will find it near impossible to get a PCP or family doctor to write this caliber of pain pill. You will have to find a pain management doctor to take your case on. Unfortunately, these oxycodone 30mg pills are highly abused and the government is really cracking down on doctors to quit writing prescriptions for these kinds of meds in some misguided effort to reduce their street use. It makes no sense but it is what it is. The only doc that you can go to that can give out this kind of medicine is a pain management doctor. You should probably be on a long acting form of medication anyway if your pain is chronic. Short acting medicines like this are not good for treating chronic pain. You will develop tolerance to them quickly and you will begin to feel they are not working. A long acting drug will do a better job at managing your pain.
