... generic about 4 mo. ago now my hair is thinning and I have a very wide part at the crown . Is there a difference between generic and name brand? If anyone has gone from name brand to generic are you seeing any change ?
Hi, lilcookie! The active ingredient in generic formulations (sertraline) is the same as in the brand name Zoloft, but the inactive ingredients (calcium phosphate, cellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, potato starch, etc.) may vary.
People can have very individual reactions to these so it's possible. You should ask your doctor or pharmacist, but be aware that age, stress, depression, anxiety, and low thyroid levels can also contribute to hair loss. If you determine that it may be the generic simply ask your pharmacist to special order a different one and see if that makes a difference ~ there are many different manufacturers.
Best regards and I hope you find the solution. Wildcat
