I took Monurol on Friday and it had no effect other than getting rid of constant feeling of needing to urinate. Still burning. I went back to the clinic and he prescribed me Macrobid on Wednesday to take in 7 days. Why? It's very painful and I would like to take the new medication. Has anyone else had this issue?
Wysam; Yes your doctor is correct The normal person or infection you just take the one dose of Monurol and should get relief in 1 to 3 days but this medication stays in your system from that one dose for 4 to 6 days still working. This is why your doctor wants you to be safe and all of this well be out of your system by the 7 days then you can go onto the Macrobid without any interactions or other problems but you might even be feeling better yet but it sounds like you had a pretty bad UTI so the doctor would not even have written the Macrobid if he or she did not think you needed an extra boost. SO sorry as the doctor said to wait for the 7 days from the Friday that you took the monurol before you start the Macrobid. but as I said the symptoms could be much better by now.
