... tablet before breakfast and some days no effect - i may even not have my bowels open (other than several small plasticine like stools) for a couple of days then for no obvious reason i will have a very upset stomach for approx 1/2 a day. Is this cycle normal for this drug as it is very difficult to manage as i have 2 children and i work. Advice would be greatfully received. Thanks
Hi. I started using Linaclotide (or Constella) as its called here, 3 weeks ago. The doctor told me it takes (specially for people with an acute IBS ) about 4-8 weeks to fully work. I noticed for the first time in 2.5 years, that I can go to the toilets every 2 days comfortably, something that didn't happen before without laxatives. but as to the pain, it is still there. I wonder if someone noticed a relief from pain after 3, 4, or 5 weeks. I would love to hear from you.
