... the equal mg. of effexor xr to the lexapro 40 mg. ?
There is no accurate comparison.
Since you are out of Lexapro 40 mg. and have extra Effexor XR. do not take the Effexor at all. They are both SSRI's but two different drugs and I don't know how they can be compared as to strength, dosage, or side effects.
Get your Lexapro refilled ASAP - quickly dropping Lexapro and going directly to EFFEXOR will put you in a tailspin and more than likely ER or a psych hold.
I was taking Celexa, a first generation of Lexapro, but are vastly different. The Lexapro did not work for me. Effexor is a much much stronger drug than Celexa or Lexapro and there is no comparison other than serotonin syndrome which I've had and you do not want
Always refill your psych meds as early as possible to prevent from running out - ALWAYS!
