Recently after the death of my Dad my doctor advised I start taking it again. My question is... within 24-48 hrs taking 5mg I feel normal. Is it psychological (placebo effect) or can such a low dose have any effect??(I have never been on a dose over 10mgs)
Since anti depressants don't work fast at all, its probably a case of placebo effect. I remember years ago when I was first started on amitriptyline, I felt better in a few days, and I knew it wasn't working that fast. I think for me it was just knowing that a doc had finally done something about it and I was being treated.
Hello anonbeau. I was going to say placebo but in the world of psychiatric drugs, I've learned that all "rules" do not always apply. It could be either. Some people are extremely subsceptable to the various drugs. I am sorry for the loss of your father and hopefully, you'll be feeling better soon. Best of wishes to you, pledge
