Can I keep taking gabapentin for my diabetic neuropathy until Cymbalta takes effect?

Yes absolutely. Gabapentin is used for nerve pain so you may want to continue taking it even after the cymbalta kicks in.

If it's okay with your Dr then yes, that's who know for certain the interactions will be safe for you. That's who is aware of every aspect of your history, other meds, reason for diagnosis, allergies etc.

You should keep taking it with the neurontin. The two together work better.

Personally, I'd recommend asking whoever wrote the prescription for Cymbalta that question. Or the pharmacist who dispensed it. Both of these individuals should be better acquainted with any other medications you are taking, possible side-effects or interactions. Good luck to you.
