after taking it, it worked better than dextro-amph, it made me calmer, more aware of others ideas, persionalities, and more inquisitive i also felt i could accomplets taskes in ordaly manure. how do i talk to Dr about this ?
If you have any history of drug abuse or dependence that your doctor knows of, you'll only get an RX for it if your doctor is stupid as a brick. If no history of such drug/alcohol issues exists that he is aware of, the only good method is the following, and it is very unlikely to work:
Just ask about "different forms of the same type of medicine I'm on." Unless he knows you to be a big participant in your own healthcare and knows you know all about the drugs you take it is best to make him feel you are simply unhappy with some of the side effects of the current medication, while still clear on the fact that the medication overall has made great positive impact on your behavior and ability to live a normal life. There are only a relative small quantity of different IR ADHD stims, so if you eliminate them one by one you'll reach a point where only Desoxyn is left. Once there, it will likely take the hand of God to make it as easy as writing you the prescription for it though, and I'd give no more than a 5% chance he (or any doctor today) would even entertain the notion of prescribing the drug Desoxyn to any patient whatever the reasons. No, once Adderall, Dexadrine, Ritalin, and (if he's a progressive thinking doctor) Provigil have been attempted, he most likely will rethink your entire diagnosis or switch to something like Strattera.
Also, know that Desoxyn only comes in 5mg pills, and due to it's orphaned drug like status (despite it's very much big family of support indication of therapeutic use) each one costs about $5-7. The math: even with it being methamphetamine equivalency to dextroamphetamine/amphetamine, you will need at least 4 pills a day (20mg) to provide "benefit" at all, and this won't be the same strength as what is about an average clinical use daily dose of dex/amph (60-80mg)... you'd need at least 30 or 35mg to equal that... but sticking with 20mg a day, that's $600 a month for your RX if out of pocket.
You could afford the lab equipment AND reagents to manufacture your own methamphetamine at that price.
(Honestly I'm shocked at Desoxyn's continued manufacture... I've never found it IN STOCK at a pharmacy, though they have offered to order it if needed at Walgreen's, anyway... despite how the FDA loves to maintain growth of the formulary tome and hates to remove from it, it removed Darvocet from the market for a few failed organs country-wide, one would think (erroneously I now see) that the deaths caused my meth on the streets would be taken into count when considering Desoxyn's danger potential and added to the prescribed use death count placing it in the Category X section of Use During/While Life/Living.
I'm becoming irrelevant of content, so I'll stop. I won't summarize simply because it should be clear what I have experienced and how you can try, but I can't conclusively say one thing or the next to this question - the Dr. might just be itching to prescribe the methamphetamine Schedule-II since he can't prescribe the Schedule-I version, or might have recently suffered a stroke or hysterical disassociative fugue, or he might do what those who prefer to keep thier medical licenses do and start becoming suspicious of your motives.
I understand what you feel and mean but unfortunately that will be like winning the lottery if you were to get an rx script of Desoxyn on your first visiort. I have been going to my doctor for 8 years a side and has prescribed me ritalin to adderrall than to dextrostat. But when i wanted to try the Desoxyn because i heard its the cleanest in the sense of not having the harsh negative side effects of Adderralls, he didnt even know what Desoxyn was. You would think that having gained his trust over the years it would have been an easy switch. However, her reached for his PDR book. Opened it and raised his eyebrow and told me as he shut the book, well if the Dextrostat is not working, we can try Provigil? I said, no Thanks after a brief discussion of provigil.
