Taking combined birth control, still worried about pregnancy?

I've been taking combined birth control for about 4-5 months. I had sex without a condom with my boyfriend about 5 weeks ago. I went to the bathroom afterwards and a lot of it came out. I take all of my pills at the same minute everyday. I have never missed a pill. I don't take any other medications and antibiotics. I got my period. But I am still concerned about being pregnant for the following reasons:
1. It's my first time having sex without a condom so I don't know what to expect.
2. I know the period I get on birth control is fake, and that many people still get a period on bc when pregnant.
I am just very worried. I take levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol combined pills.
Thank you for your time
You are protected almost perfectly. The pill has over a 99% effectiveness when taken correctly which you are. The only thing that would protect you more is if you don't have sex. You have no reason to be concerned about pregnancy.
Most hormonal birth control failure isnt from perfect use! It is usually because the user was not taking it properly and not using back up as appropriate. One of the biggest causes for failure is not using back up protection while on antibiotics. Even if you take it perfectly and you take antibiotics with the Pill, antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of the Pill and you CAN become pregnant if you dont use condoms as back up the whole time you are on the antibiotic and for seven days after you finish the last antibiotic pill so this usually constitutes about 17-20 days. The pill, when taken correctly and consistently is 98-99.9% effective. Many people will lie to themselves and others when it comes to not using contraceptives appropriately. It is easier to place blame somewhere else than admit that you screwed up!
I don't think you have to worry since you take the pill always at the same time.
If you want to be extra safe for that 1% chance, then use a condom.
