Hi, antidepressants like Citalopram work by affecting chemical imbalances in your brain. They help to 'dampen' (for want of a better word) your emotions, creating a more stable you. I am on a combination of antidepressant & antipsychotic medications, and i know that i am much calmer, & i have controlled energy levels. In turn though, i find it very difficult to cry any more. I still feel usual emotions, love, loss, happiness, sadness, but in a controlled manor. What dose are you taking? Are you taking any other medications?
Dear willy757; I started on 20 mg. Then my Dr. said "let's raise it to 40 mgs."
That's when I got the zombie feeling. So, now I am very happy to say that
back at 20 mgs I really like citalopram, for 7 yrs now, my depression is
mostly under control.Everybody has blue moments or random days, even
