Hi, antidepressants like Citalopram work by affecting chemical imbalances in your brain. They help to 'dampen' (for want of a better word) your emotions, creating a more stable you. I am on a combination of antidepressant & antipsychotic medications, and i know that i am much calmer, & i have controlled energy levels. In turn though, i find it very difficult to cry any more. I still feel usual emotions, love, loss, happiness, sadness, but in a controlled manor. What dose are you taking? Are you taking any other medications?
