Usually with penicillin drugs this would of been better after two pills.
I had an abscess in my gum above my canine tooth and ones behind it. The dentist said the abscess, the infection, in my gum had grown to the place that it was ready to burst - not a good thing. He gave me a strong round of Keflex (cephalexin).
He had to split my gum open to drain out the pus. And fortunately, I didn't lose any teeth from it. That is the antibiotic of first choice for a tooth abscess. Take your whole prescription!
