Now my next visit with doctor is 7-1-13, he is thinking on putting me on femara for additional five years??? Any thoughts on this??? Other breast cancer people I know stopped all drugs after being on arimedix for five years. What is the benefit of another five years of a new drug therapy???
Have you had recent testing done? Blood work? Mammogram? Perhaps your doctor sees evidence that tells him you need more treatment. Only your doctor can answer that question. We cannot judge our response to cancer treatments based on how it worked for other people. Each case is different and nobody's response to the meds can be foreseen. I suggest that you talk with your doctor and ask him to explain why he wants you to take femara.
I wish you the best,
