I'm not sure if I should stop taking my prescribed anti-depressant first, like slowly ween myself off it, then start the Niacin regimen, or if i should start the Niacin, then begin taking less antidepressant after i begin feeling the effects of it.
I have Resistant Depression and been on EVERYTHING and 3 breakdowns. Started Niacin for high cholesterol and WORKS for increased energy, fatigue is totally gone, have motivation and happy again, SO YES, I would taper your AD down a bit each week and start with about 100mg of Niacin a day. As you come down on your AD, taper up on the Niacin. Niacin is shown to work for depression and anxiety incredibly!!!
