I was taking 60 mg of citalopram I heard 40 mg is toxic is this true?

The max recommended dose is 40mg a day. This does not mean more is toxic, it may just mean that more wouldn't be of any more help.
Hi, new guidelines were introduced to cap the maximum dose of Citalopram to 40mg per day. Research suggests that a higher dose could be detrimental to cardiac health. Also, there is a question as to whether a dose higher than 40mg will act any differently/better. I take 60mg of Citalopram daily, i was prescribed it about 3 years ago now. Personally, i noticed an improvement of my mood, but that doesn't mean that everyone would.
