I took a half of a pill, which is not how I was to take it, but I could not take the pain. what is the max you can take per day, now 180mg per day. I have spine and back degeneration and cancer. my injuries started in Vietnam after a mortar rocket attack.
Usually the max is 6 per day. You need to talk to your Dr though. It may be time to rotate to a different medication to reduce tolerance. Tolerance is a normal part of taking opioid pain meds. Your brain builds more opioid receptors in response your you taking an opioid so it takes more medication to work after a while. Much of the time, it helps to rotate to an equivalent dose of a different opioid for a while. Do you take a long acting drug as well? If you have chronic pain, you should be taking a long acting pain medicine! They work better to prevent pain rather than chasing pain like short acting meds do. A person seems to build tolerance faster to short acting meds so that is another reason to use a long acting med.
