I’m taking 15mg methotrexate for my psoriasis once a week and today will be my 4th dose. Does anyone know how well it works for psoriasis plaque? I have it on my face, arms, back and scalp. Please let me know with your experience, I don’t suffer from psoriatic arthritis though.
I have used MTX for nearly 40 years (I started in 1976 after it came off protocol). I started with 27 mg/week orally. Then I switched to subcu which is far easier on the system than orally.
MTX has helped my PsA. When I first started MTX, it cleared up the psoriatic pustules that "grew" on the bottoms of both feet. It seemed as though I had poison ivy. Lots of oozing, some infections, and general discomfort.
I noticed nausea when I started MTX. When I took more than 12 mg/week I noticed nausea, headaches, and loss of appetite.
Hi, i was on it for 3 yrs and had to stop because of surgery .
It took about a year-and-a-half for it to work on my psoriasis. I had to switch to the injection because the tablets made me sick and fatigued.
It did clear my skin and my nails but not my scalp.
Tried to go back on it but it no longer worked. I am now on stelara 90% clear after 2 injections.
