Does anyone know what the difference is between these 2 medicines?
hi 486 just as said above but all that matters is you and doctor do the correct test and the dr well decide what to put you on now days most of my customers are on the synthetic thyroid and it comes in so many strenghts that they can adjust it to get the right amout of thyroid. In very rare cases some people cant hanle one or the other but all that matters is you get the proper amouth of thyroid your thyroid does not know the difference of armour thyroid which is the regular but is generic now and the generic synthetic trust your doctor some have good reasons for not useing one or the other your friend and happy new year Chuck1957
Both thyroid medications are artificial substitutes for human hormone. We are neither pigs nor were developed in a lab. My endocrinologist made a very good point by explaining that synthroid, etc? is first choice because it is always the same. The .armour is ground up desiccated thymus of a pig or cow. It varies from batch to batch. Depending upon the person and how they react to the thyroid determines if Armour helps. So both are not natural. An Endocrinologist is the one to decide best, not a general doctor. Good luck and always take exactly as told.
