The active ingredient in Acnotin is a drug called Isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is an extremely effective medicine in treating acne but no drug is without risks and you should discuss your specific risks with your doctor.

There are many "natural" products on the market which may or may not help. Talk with your pharmacist. If your acne is severe and resistant to standard treatments isotretinoin may be your best option.
Acne usually goes away after the teenage years, but it may last into middle age. The condition often responds well to treatment after 6 - 8 weeks, but it may flare up from time to time.
