After the initial pain from the injections receded, I have had much improvement in pain in my knees, but my knees are very weak & have pain when stooping and trying to get up from the floor or going up stairs. Would exercise help the weakness and pain when I put stress on my knees?
Absolutely. Strengthening the muscles in your legs will help make all kinds of movement more comfortable. You might also consider having another round of synvisc injections. They generally only last so long and you may benefit by having them done again. Exercise is important to gain strength and flexibility in joints. However, since you already have problems with your knee, it may be beneficial for your Dr to refer you to a physical therapist who can show you specific exercises to strengthen the joint without injury. You needn't go for long, just long enough to learn what you need to do. I hope this helps you!
