this is my 3rd year using synvisc. they worked great first two years but this year, my left knee got very swollen. Should I risk using it again? Strangely, my right knees was fine. there was no infection (had bacterial tests done on the fluid from swollen joint).
Sometimes that's just an unfortunate side effect of the injection. If you've had success with it before and it helped make your knees less painful, I'd probably be willing to give it another shot. Of course you should discuss it with your Dr and remind him of your reaction to it the last time. I had 3 series of the 3 injections over a 2 1/2 year period before they stopped being of any help and I had my knee replaced. But while they worked it was wonderful! Best wishes! :)
