... good to say about it"? I had artroscopy but the pain is coming back so my dr want to do this injection. Any advice?
I would say to give it a try. I have heard from many people that it helps a lot. The injections can be painful and some people do get a bit of inflammation at first but after that most people are happy. It is a temporary measure however. Have you read the reviews on here? Links:
I have arthritis and had three sets of synvisc injections before finally having my knee replaced. The first set worked well for about a year, the second set worked well for about six months and the third set worked for about 2-3 months. So the injections actually bought me an extra 2 years. Unfortunately my arthritis advanced to the point where a replacement was no longer a choice, but a necessity. So I'd have to recommend the injections. The biggest problem with reading posts on a site such as this is that most people post problems with something, not success. A lot of people will respond commiserating with the problem, but not necessarily their successes unless it's asked for - like you did. I hope this helped you out a little! :)
I'd say NO. I just have both knees done about 3 weeks ago. One side ok, left side and had incredible stiffness and couldn't full bend or straighten my knee. Had 30cc's drained from front of it. Going back for another possible aspiration after ultrasound because the back of my knee is killing me and my doc wants an ultrasound done by radiology first.
I had a single synvisc shot several months ago on that left knee and the injection site kind of stayed sore and I now think the nausea, fatigue and dizzy spells I've been complaining about are also for the past several months are from the Synvisc. NO, don't do it. Stick with Cortisone or something "safe".
I believe this drug is somewhat toxic. My left shoulder joint also started killing me and is right now and that started after the injection. I've done nothing else to bring that pain on. I'm baffled. I believe the Synvisc injection into the knee is more dangerous that it's worth.
