What could cuase swollen lower left abdomen no pain accompanied by no other symptoms 20 year old male
It could be many things. You might have strained a muscle, you could be constipated... I would watch it for a couple of days and take some ibuprophen to help with any inflammation you might have. Apply an ice pack to the area. If it continues or becomes painful, see a doctor.
Generally in young males its a hernia. Unless there is pain, it can wait for you to show your dr until you see him. If you get pain in it, see a dr immediately.
I agree with Kaismama on this one. A likely culprit in this area is a hernia. If there is no pain, you can probably wait a bit but I would recommend you get it evaluated as soon as you can. If you develop pain or if you get swelling in your scrotum, go to the ER. At some point you may need surgery. My husband had these on both sides when he was about your age. He is 54 now and is developing one at the umbilicus. It happens when there is a weakening in the abdominal wall.
