So for about 4 days now my back has been hurting. I thought/think that it's because I've had this week off if school so all I've down really is lay in my bed. So I thought that could be it. A lot of it has subsided, but now at the base of my back between my "back dimples" is puffy and swollen. It doesn't like extremely hurt, but it's unconfortable to bend over or squat and things like that. Sorry my explanation is so vague, I just don't know what it is and don't wanna go to the doctor unless it's serious.

Sorry you don't want to go to a doctor, but the only way you can be sure of what's going on is to see a doctor. And s/he will probably recommend that you get a CT scan or an MRI. If I had to guess, it's the lumbar area of your back acting up and the swollen part could be a large prolapsed disk or, less likely, a lymphoma. I'd want to know if it were me because if by chance it's a lymphoma, you're talking about the possibility of a tumor.
