- diabetes, type 2, metoprolol, sotalol, chronic kidney disease, blood pressure, blood, pressure
Added 17 Feb 2016:
The sotalol was prescribed when I had a heart flutter 25 years ago. My Diabetes is under control. Latest glucose was 90. My main health concern is CKD . My creatinine is 2.2, BUN is 46.
I can sympathize with you as I also have CKD and diabetes. I only started this crazy journey a year ago. My latest gfr is 53. I take 160 mg Valsartan ( Diovan) for blood pressure and my bp is less than 140/70, where my nephrologist wants it to be. Did your Dr explain what the difference in meds would be? I was initially rxd metoprolol, but it was too strong for me and dropped my bp to the point I almost passed out at the drs office. Dropped that med immediately. Of course, our needs are not the same and and your experience will be different than mine.
