I've been taking Paxil for +/-20 years and it's not working for me anymore. I recently had the genetic testing to help determine what Rx would work best for me and both Pristiq and Fetzima were recommended. Doc wants me to stop Paxil (no taper) and start taking Fetzima. I'm really nervous about stopping Paxil abruptly. Is there any indication that Fetzima will prevent withdrawal from Paxil? My schedule is very busy and I do a lot of driving. Worried about switching, but need to do something about depression and anxiety. Any input will be appreciated.
Annaira im with my friend Kasmi... I have had noting but problems swithing and more so the medications your switching your doing from the type of drug a SSRI TO A SSNRI They are in a different class the ssri is the prozac and you have been on it for 20 years and the new drug is the one they call SSNRI they have more of a problem during a increase or switch I don;t understand why your doctor does not want to taper down on the one as they change from one to the other You might give the Doctor a call and say you have friends and doing some reading and they really reccomend to taper off and more so when you have been on a medication around 20 years..good luck Chuck1957

Fetzima - All I hear is about side effects, so many and bad ones. I'm in such a bad way, so severly?
