... after approx 11 mos am having anxiety again. Trying to get ins to approve brand name again but if that doesn't work considering celexa . Has anyone had this experience? Looking for suggestions. Thanks so much! ( I should add that I was on name brand lexapro for over 8 years 10 mgs per day and never had a relapse, they began on the generic)
Hey Peace Seeker. You have to understand that with these types of drugs there isn't always rhyme or reason to why they stop working as well. Most of them though can & for a lot of ppl usually do stop being as effective. Shifts in your body chemistry effect how they work as well so getting older maybe there's been a hormone shift that caused the loss of effectiveness. When you took it for 8yrs without this problem you probably didn't have that type if internal change. For most ppl name brand vs generic doesn't make a difference in drug quality or usability. Talk to your Dr see what he thinks & maybe just a dose adjustment is all that's required.
