I've been on zoloft for 11 years and these past couple years I've been having ups and downs with my anxiety. They've added Remeron and it made my depression worse. Wellbutrin worked but I lost a lot of weight. They're trying me on Wellbutrin again and I have to stick to a meal plan and watch my weight. My anxiety fuels my depression. I'm only 22 and I'm maxed out on Zoloft at 200mg
This is something you should talk to your Dr about. Are you taking both Zoloft and Wellbutrin at this time? If you feel the Zoloft is no longer working for you then maybe your Dr can give you a schedule to wean off it. The Wellbutrin might be all you need. Unfortunately, the Dr's sometime over medicate people thinking that a couple of different meds might do the trick but that certainly isn't always the case.Good luck.
Tiffany; I do agree with Nancy post, But many people also need more than one medication but this is up to you and your doctor. Be open with the doctor and let them know how you are feeling now it could be a good time to change your medication altogether. just know it takes a while to taper off the one and slowly go up on another of the doctors choice. But to be honest with you holiday time is not the best time to be messing with your medications if you can hold out until after the holidays you well feel what is going on better. Good luck to you but don't worry there are many good medications that well help you. But sometimes it could take a few different tries to find the right medication for you. chuck1957
