Has been so bad ... is 48 hours enough time to be out of system prior to sx?
I think expecting someone to wean off pain meds before surgery is barbaric. The pain is so bad you're having surgery but you can't take anything for pain? As long as you don't take any after bedtime the night before, and let the anesthesiologist know when you took it, that should be enough for them, and it always has been until docs started all this crap with pain meds. The whole point is so you don't need something stronger for pain after surgery. Well docs get over it, hydrocodone is never enough for surgical pain. Sorry had to vent there, I've just heard one too many people expected to go in pain for weeks before surgery for no good reason. If you can manage 48 hrs without pain med, that would have to be enough to satisfy them. And if your pain dr does not treat post op pain adequately let him know, don't suffer.

I was prescribed Norco 10/325 after two failed surgeries. Years later, Norco is no longer effective?
