I've been on venlafaxine since March 2015 and started weaning myself off Dec. 2016. I was on 150MG then and got down to 18.75 (half a 37.5 tablet). I thought I had chemo brain from my cancer treatment, but now I am wondering if my feeling out of balance and my delayed brain were due to venlafaxine. So yesterday I was prescribed to 37mg of Venlafaxine for the first time. It's been years since I was on anything for anxiety. I wouldn't say my anxiety is crippling, but it's constantly in the back of my mind. It can be triggered by something as harmless as a stranger in the grocery store asking me a question, to going to family gatherings around the holidays and of course any form of public speaking.

I have been on antidepressants for 7 years now, and Effexor for 5 years, was up to 150 mg, and have reduced to 37,5 mg with no side effects, I have done this really slowly, and have been on 37.5 mg XL tablets for 8 months, and can't stop completely. today i thought i would take one every second day, and within a few hours of missing the dose, i had a horrible dizzy turn, so i took the tablet.

I cant half the tablet as it is XL, any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Venlafaxine vomiting after first dose?

I got prescribed these today as a replacement for sertraline as I was on 200mg and all it was doing was making my anxiety horrifically worse. My dosage for this is 75mg once per day.

I took the tablet with some food (some good old fashioned dairylee dunkers and fruit) and felt fine! Then around two hours later nausea hit me like a bitch and I was vomiting around 30 minutes later. I must add that I have an extreme phobia of vomiting. I haven't been sick for at least 5 years possibly...

If I take magnesium supplement while stopping taking venlafaxine for depression will that help?

I have been told that magnesium supplements can help stop depression very well, and wondered if I started taking magnesium while stopping taking my 2 x venlafaxine tablets per day I would feel
less side effects of stopping the antidepressant and then could feel better by staying on the magnesium supplements instead of taking a nasty antidepressant?
Can anyone advise me please? thanks
