I've been prescribed Synthroid since March because my Nurse Practitioner believes I have hypothyroidism. We did a test before starting any medication. You can see the results below:

-TSH: 3.11
- T4: 8
- Free Thyroxine Index: 2.0
- T3 Uptake: 25
- Weight: 136 lbs

My only concern is my weight. I've always been between 135-140 lbs with my weight being the lowest as soon as we started the Synthroid treatment. I have continued to eat fruits/vegetables/nuts/etc with the occasional...

Hi all,

I'm a 23 year old female who was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease a little over a year ago. I went to an endocrinologist who started me on brand name Synthroid 25 mcg. My TSH went from a little over normal (~4.5) to around 2.4, which is great! However, the endo ideally wanted it to be around 1.0-1.5. He increased me to Synthroid 50 mcg and in February, my TSH was at 0.03... so now hyPERthyroid! Not good. Went back down to 25 mcg, and asked if he thought generic...

I have been taking levothyroxine (generic, not Synthroid) for about three years. When I first started, my doctor said if I miss, to catch up what I miss. He said he even has a patient who takes the weekly amount once a week. Because of this I am a little lax on taking it and catch up 2-3 at a time. I have a prescription calendar so I know for sure what I've taken/missed. Now I am reading that you should NOT catch up if you miss a dose. OMG! Should I find another doctor or is it not that...

Hi.. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and put on Eutirox. I felt great at first and was so excited to have my brain and energy back but I have had two bouts with brain fog, screaching headache and pain once again within a month and a half. Can I switch to Synthroid as I am reading it is better... ?
I was also told that once you start with one, you can't swirtch it. Is this true? Feeling a little lost and looking for hope.

I'm 18 with no kids , and don't want any till I'm a lot older . But I suffer from a thyroid condition so I'm currently taking Synthroid. My thyroid got out of wack in November so I've had lots of symptoms. I'm starting to get better and don't want to take the BC pill and have more side effects and hormones. Is an non-hormonal IUD my best bet ? I need a form of birth control that works best for my situation.
