What is the slo release time period? Is the slo release time different in the day time when a person is active than when a person is sleeping? What should be the time spacing be between two 500Mg doses in a 24 hour period?

I have been on niaspan for years and it has worked well but have learned that the cost of slo niacin is much less. Should I consider this? My Dr. has given me statins i cannot take them. so he gave me this SloNiacin.250MG SA tablets. I,am only taking a 1/2 tab. 125 mg.. what kind of side effects can I ?get and when do vitamins give people side effects

The price has gone up for me because of deductible issues on my insurance policy. Question, has anyone switched from Niaspan to Slo-Niacin and if so what was the impact on cholesterol levels? As I understand it they both contain the same form of the vitamin.

What if my husband opens the Slo-Niacin capsule to take it?

He has a swallowing problem when it comes to taking pills. He opens the capsule and takes it that way. They do not have a liquid. Is this harming him? Should he just take the regular Niacin instead? (Maybe less harmful) Please help. They just started him on Crestor with it also.
