Can you take gabapentin and Tums together?

I recently had a false positive UA for benzos. I dont take benzos so I dont know what caused this?

I had been on a flight the day prior to the UA and I had taken meclizine and Benadryl. My daily regular meds are: tramadol, gabapentin, trazodone. Why has my surgeon told me to stop taking gabapentin prior to my back surgery?

I've been told to stop taking my 600mg gabapentin 3 days prior to my back surgery. Plus stop taking my .5mg xanex and 15mg mirtazapine 2 days prior to surgery. I'm curious as to why? Can I switch directly from Lyrica to gabapentin?

Do I need to gradually decrease Lyrica, then gradually increase Neurontin? I have taken both in the past. Lyrica works much better for me but I can't handle the cost right now, maybe after I have met my deductible.
