Mom taking Decadron for brain tumor and had allergic reaction, Help?

Her allergic reaction did not happen until 12 hours after her dose. Itching and hives started in lower back, proceeded to stomach area and spread to under arms and hands. She needs this to help with possible swelling near tumor sight. Has anyone else had this problem?
