I cannot use Cipro due to muscle/tendon issues so my Dr switched me to APO-Sulfatrim DS. Is this strong enough for kidney infections? I'm hearing both yes and no and would like clarification. I've been having severe flank pain for several months now.
I have been put on this medication for a bladder infection that has infected my kidneys. Started with a different medication first that didn't work and now this. I believe that your doctor will start you on a mild antibiotic and work their way up to stronger ones. If you haven't seen a doctor yet, you should definitely consider it! A family member of mine ignored a bladder/kidney infection and now has to use a catheter for the rest of her life simply from not dealing with it for a month. Good luck!
